Catholic Education
St. Mary Catholic Schools PolicyWe value Catholic education for our children and teens. According to our Mission Statement, “…we are entrusted to pass on our faith tradition through Catholic education, evangelization, and ongoing Christian Formation.”
For many years, our Parish Pastoral Councils have worked very diligently with the Education Committee and Finance Committee to assure the financial support of our parish for the future. There are a large number of young children in our parish who will be attending Catholic Schools in the next few years.
St. Mary pays for the Catholic School Tuition for those who are active, tithing members of our parish community for at least one year. However, we feel that in justice, Catholic School families need to strive to tithe at least the amount they would have to pay if they were a member of the parish where they have chosen to send their children.
Most of our school families meet or exceed this expectation, except families with multiple children attending Catholic schools. We are asking our current Catholic school families to do their best to meet this policy. If this creates a financial hardship please contact Fr. Steve Lintzenich to schedule a meeting to discuss options for assistance.
In order to become a Catholic School family, all new and re-enrolling school families must set up a meeting annually with Fr. Steve Lintzenich to discuss enrollment in Catholic School.
