Welcome to St. Mary Catholic Church! We are a Pilgrim people on a spiritual journey, a thriving faith community that embraces the teachings of the Second Vatican Council. Our Roman Catholic Community has a strong spiritual base and is committed to Hospitality, Compassion, Healing, Prayer, Outreach to the Poor, Stewardship, fostering Family Life, Evangelization, Peace and Justice. Many of our 600 families travel from all parts of the tri-state region - Illinois, Kentucky and Indiana - to participate in the prayerful celebration of our Eucharistic liturgies.

If you're seeking a community of active believers and want to get involved in doing good and helping others, you have come to the right place. We need your help with our many ministries. We are in touch daily with the poor, hurt, and homeless through our St. Vincent de Paul Society, Doorbell Ministries, and Soup Kitchen. Our Food Pantry supplements other food pantries in the community.

At St. Mary, we have an active Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) ministry that is on-going. RCIA is an educational program for non-Catholics who are interested in becoming members of the Church. We are also involved in interfaith organizations, ecumenical programs and celebrations, and numerous other community groups.

We are alive in God's Spirit, and we invite you to join us for worship and service to others. Worship at St. Mary stands at the center of our Christian mission and drives us in our service of others. We have numerous liturgical ministries, as well as a vibrant and active music program that includes several choirs, instrumental ensembles, opportunities for children, and much more.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the people of St. Mary Church,
through the guidance of the Holy Spirit,
are inspired to be a hospitable Catholic community
in downtown Evansville, Indiana.
We are dedicated to celebrating God’s presence in our lives
through sharing the Eucharist
and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are committed, as disciples of Jesus, to seek out and serve
the needs of the hungry, the hurting, and the homeless.
We hold sacred all family life through the nurturing of marriage,
the engagement process, and the single life.
We are entrusted to pass on our faith tradition
through Catholic education, evangelization,
and ongoing Christian formation.
We are challenged to be stewards of God’s abundance,
stewards of prayer, of one another,
and the Earth.
